The Exam pattern
This is a statewide exam conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC). The exam consists of 100 questions in which equal weight is given to each of the engineering topics in the syllabus.

What is the job role of an Industrial Extension Officer?
The primary role of an Industrial Extension Officer is to deal with the promotion of industries. Most of them include Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

The Industrial Extension Officer also has to communicate the same to these MSME’s.
The MSME’s will be required to go for certain registrations and the Industries department assigns the responsibilities to these IEOS to help the MSME’s get all the registration formalities, as well as other mandatory clearances, done.
The Industrial Extension Officer will be given a specific target regarding the number of projects he/she is expected to complete.
As the job primarily involves fieldwork, the Industrial Extension Officer may have to get in contact with the MSME units.
